Cookies and Browser Storage
What this website stores in your browser, and what it does not.
Last updated: 1 October 2026
The short version
We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not run behavioural analytics on this website. You can read these pages without signing in and without accepting anything, and there is no cookie banner.
We do not claim this site sets nothing at all. The software that makes sign-in and session security work is part of the site, and it can place information in your browser.
What may be stored
- Authentication and security: our identity provider's software loads across the site, public pages included, and may use cookies or other browser storage to make sign-in and session security work. We have observed it creating browser storage during ordinary signed-out browsing, so this is not limited to the moment you sign in. It is there for sign-in and security — not for advertising and not to measure how the site is used.
- Ordinary functional and security mechanisms: the usual things a website and its hosting need in order to serve pages, balance requests and resist abuse.
What is not used
- No advertising or re-targeting cookies, and no advertising profile.
- Analytics: none. No active behavioural analytics runs on this website. Analytics software exists in the codebase but is NOT loaded here — it is deliberately unmounted, so no page-view or session tracking happens. If that ever changes, this page and our Privacy Policy change with it.
- No cross-site tracking of your browsing elsewhere.
Your marketing preferences are not kept in your browser
If you subscribe to our emails, your name, address and chosen topics are stored on our own servers as part of your subscription record — not in a cookie. Clearing your browser does not change them, and you can review or change them at email preferences or through the unsubscribe link in any marketing email we send.
Controlling browser storage
You can block or delete cookies and other site data through your browser settings. Blocking storage used for authentication will stop sign-in working, but the public pages of this site will still read normally.
